STATEMENT OF COMMITMENT

L’Academie is committed to providing a safe and nurturing space for all students. This safety policy outlines our commitment to protecting the physical and emotional wellbeing of our students and staff.

CHILD SAFETY STANDARDS

We adhere to the following child safety standards:

  • National Principles for Child Safety: We uphold the rights of all children to be safe and protected under the specific standards applicable to NSW

PREVENTION OF INJURY

  • Our Studio:
    • Well-maintained studios with sprung floors and non-slip Rosco Tarkette.
    • Air Conditioned studios
    • Secure storage of equipment.
    • Natural light in all 3 studios.
  • Appropriate Supervision:
    • Qualified and experienced teachers.
    • Supervision during class transitions and breaks.
  • Proper Technique:
    • Emphasis on correct technique and alignment.
    • Gradual progression of difficulty.
    • Avoidance of excessive repetition.
  • Warm-up and Cool-down:
    • Mandatory warm-up and cool-down routines.
    • Stretching and strengthening exercises.
  • First Aid and Emergency Procedures:
    • Trained staff in first aid and CPR.
    • Up-to-date first aid kit.
    • Emergency contact information readily available.
    • Clear emergency evacuation procedures.

PROTECTION FROM ABUSE AND HARASSMENT

  • Zero Tolerance Policy: We have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of abuse, harassment, or discrimination.
  • Reporting Procedures: Clear procedures for reporting concerns or incidents.
  • Staff Screening: Thorough background checks for all staff and volunteers.
  • Professional Boundaries: Clear guidelines for appropriate interactions between staff and students.
  • Child Protection Training: Regular training for staff on child protection issues.

CODE OF CONDUCT
